Rob Heyns was convinced that the Springboks would win the 2023 Rugby World Cup. The problem was, with less than 6 weeks until the tournament kicked off, there wasn't enough time to take advantage of this hunch in launching a VSOP brandy.

But that wasn't going to stop him.

In a few days, we'd flown out 2007 World Cup winning captain, John Smit, and produced a film to tease the launch of our country's first foray into the premium brandy market. 2 years later, and Smitty had been joined by Jean De Villiers, Justin Marshall, George Gregan, Makazole Mapimpi, and a host of other rugby superstars as shareholders of the award-winning Avante Premium Brandy.
